This Intellectual Property Policy explains what belongs to Jersey Hollow on jerseyhollow.shop, what you are welcome to do with it, what we can and cannot print on a shirt, and how to tell us about a trademark, design or other rights concern. It matters more than usual for a store like ours, because so many of our long sleeve fishing and hunting jerseys carry text that customers type themselves. Knowing where the lines sit before you fill in a Name on back or Boat name field saves you an awkward email after checkout. Copyright notices follow a separate legal process described on our DMCA page.
The short version
- The Jersey Hollow name, our print patterns, product photos and page text belong to Jersey Hollow.
- You are welcome to share links to our pages. Copying our designs, photos or descriptions is not allowed.
- We print our own designs plus your own name or text only. No brand names, logos, trademarks, tournament names, team names, pro angler or hunter names, or camo brand patterns.
- Personalisation is printed exactly as typed, with no proof or mockup first, so check what you type.
- Report rights concerns to support@jerseyhollow.shop with the subject “IP concern”. We reply within 24 hours on business days.
What Jersey Hollow owns
The content on jerseyhollow.shop is owned by Jersey Hollow unless a page says otherwise. That covers the Jersey Hollow name and any logo we use, the all-over print patterns on our jerseys, hoodies, tees, board shorts and caps, the colourways those patterns come in, product photographs and live preview images, product descriptions, guide pages such as the Size Guide, and the layout and wording of the site. These are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws in the United States and in the countries we ship to.
Our print patterns
Each pattern, whether it is fish scales running down a sleeve, ripples across a lake jersey, topo lines on a river design, leaves and branches on a deer camp shirt, or marsh grass and feathers on a duck blind jersey, is part of what makes a Jersey Hollow product. The pattern, its arrangement on the front, back and sleeves, and its colourway belong to us.
What stays yours
The name or short text you type into a personalisation field is yours. We use it only to make and deliver your order and to answer your questions about it, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not reuse a customer’s name or camp name in our own designs or advertising.
Sharing, linking and what is off limits
We are glad when people pass our pages around a fishing club group chat or send a link to a family member planning a lake-trip set. Here is how that works in practice.
You are welcome to
- View and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, for example to compare sizes at home.
- Share links to our product pages, collections and guides by message, email or social media.
- Post a photo of yourself, your buddies or your family wearing a Jersey Hollow shirt you bought.
- Quote a short extract of our text with a link back to the page it came from.
Please do not
- Copy, reproduce, resell or republish our product photos, print patterns or descriptions, including on marketplaces, auction sites or other online shops.
- Print our designs on garments, stickers, boat wraps or other items for sale or giveaway.
- Use the Jersey Hollow name, or anything confusingly similar, in a way that suggests a connection with us that does not exist.
- Scrape or bulk-download the site with automated tools, other than ordinary search engine indexing.
- Make derivative designs from our patterns, such as changing the colours or adding a different fish, without our written permission.
If you would like to use something in a way not listed here, for example a photo in a club newsletter, email us and ask. A short written permission is usually all that is needed, and we will tell you clearly if the answer is no.
What we can print for you, and what we cannot
Custom Name products have built-in fields on the product page: Name on back (letters, up to 14 characters, printed in capitals), and on some products an optional Sleeve text, Camp name or Boat name, a Lettering colour choice of White, Black or Sand, and an optional Trip year on the family crew jersey. These fields are there for your own words: your name, your nickname, your boat’s name, your camp’s name, the year of a family trip.
They are not for other people’s intellectual property. We cannot print:
- Brand names or logos, including fishing tackle, boat, outboard, outdoor gear or apparel brands.
- Names of tournament trails, fishing or hunting events, clubs that hold registered marks, or sports teams and leagues.
- The names of professional anglers, hunters, guides, celebrities or other public figures.
- Camouflage patterns sold under a brand, or anything designed to look like them.
- Slogans, catchphrases or artwork that belong to someone else.
Why the rule is strict
A business name, a logo or a well-known person’s name can be protected even when it appears on a single shirt for one person. Printing it without permission could expose both of us to a claim, and it could suggest a sponsorship or endorsement that does not exist. Keeping every shirt to our own designs plus your own words keeps your order simple and safe.
A common situation
Say you fish a regional bass circuit and would like the circuit’s name down one sleeve and your rod maker’s logo on the chest. We cannot print either. What we can do is put your name on the back of a Custom Name Bass Tournament jersey, add your own sleeve text, such as “Big Water Crew” or your hometown lake, and let you pick a lettering colour that suits the colourway. If you are unsure whether a phrase is safe, email us before you order and we will tell you.
Club and family orders
Group orders follow the same rule. When five friends from a fishing club order matching Lake jerseys in one order, each jersey can carry that person’s own name on the back, and the club can use a sleeve text it made up itself. If the club’s name is also a registered mark held by a larger organisation, or borrows a well-known brand’s wording, we cannot print it. A grandparent ordering a family crew set for a summer lake trip can add each family member’s name and the trip year without any concern at all.
| You type | Can we print it? | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Your own first name, last name or nickname | Yes | Your own name is what the field is for |
| Your boat’s name, such as “REEL EASY” | Yes, on the offshore jersey’s Boat name field | A private boat name you chose |
| Your hunting camp’s name and a trip year | Yes, where those fields are offered | Your own camp and family details |
| A fishing or outdoor brand’s name or logo | No | Belongs to the brand owner |
| A tournament trail, league or team name | No | Usually a protected mark |
| A pro angler’s or hunter’s name | No | Right of publicity and possible endorsement confusion |
| A branded camouflage pattern | No | Protected design owned by someone else |
When an order includes text we cannot print
Personalisation is printed exactly as typed. We do not send a proof or mockup before production; the live preview on the product page shows how your text sits over the product photo. That means the responsibility for what goes into the fields is shared: you choose the words, and we refuse words that belong to someone else.
If we notice an order line that contains a brand name, a protected name or a slogan we cannot print, we email you before production. You can reply with replacement text, or we can cancel that line and refund it to the original payment method. Requests to change text you typed yourself, for example correcting “BRANDEN” to “BRANDON”, follow the 24-hour window on our Cancel or Change an Order page.
Repeated attempts to order protected names or marks, after we have explained the rule, may lead us to decline future orders from that account. That is covered further in our Terms of Service.
Our own designs and other people’s rights
We aim to sell only designs that are our own. We do not knowingly offer products that use another person’s trademark, copyright, design right or right of publicity. Our product names describe the scene and use, such as a lake jersey, a river jersey, an offshore crew jersey or a duck blind jersey, rather than borrowing anyone else’s brand.
Other names that may appear on the site, for example in a customer email we quote with permission or in a reference to a payment provider at checkout, belong to their owners. Their appearance does not mean they endorse Jersey Hollow or that we are connected with them.
If we learn that a product may infringe someone’s rights, we review it and remove or change it where appropriate. If you have already ordered that product, we contact you by email about your options under our Refund Policy.
Reporting a trademark or design concern
If you believe something on jerseyhollow.shop uses your trademark, design, name or likeness without permission, email support@jerseyhollow.shop with the subject “IP concern”. Please include:
- Your name, contact details and your relationship to the rights owner, for example owner, employee or legal representative.
- The right you believe is affected, such as a trademark with its registration number and country, or a description of the design.
- The full URL of each product or page concerned.
- A short explanation of why you believe it infringes, and a statement that the information you have provided is accurate.
For copyright in artwork, photos or text, please use the six-element notice on our DMCA page instead, because that process has specific legal requirements.
What happens after you report
We reply within 24 hours on business days to confirm we have your report or to ask for anything missing. We then compare the material with the right you described. If the concern is valid, we remove or change the content and tell you. If we disagree, or need more information, we explain why by email. Reports are handled by a person, not an automated filter.
Ideas, feedback and photos you send us
Customers sometimes suggest a new fish species, a print pattern or a colourway. We enjoy hearing them. If you send us an idea, you agree that we may use it freely and that it does not create a payment obligation, but we will never publish your name, photo or personal details without asking first.
Photos you email us, for example to show a print problem, are used only to resolve your request and are deleted 30 days after delivery. We do not use them in product listings or advertising.
