This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Jersey Hollow collects when you visit jerseyhollow.shop, place an order or write to us, why we need it, who sees it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. Jersey Hollow, 3714 Pelham Lane, Charlotte, NC 28211, US, is responsible for the information described here. If anything on this page is unclear, email support@jerseyhollow.shop.

Your privacy in brief

  • We do not sell your personal information or rent out our customer list.
  • Payments are handled by the payment provider you choose at checkout; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Photos you email us about a problem are deleted 30 days after delivery.
  • Marketing emails are sent only if you agree, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing us.

What we collect and where it comes from

Details you give us at checkout

To fill an order we collect your name, email address, billing address, shipping address and, if you choose to give one, a phone number. We also record what you ordered: the products, sizes, colourways and the price you paid. If you ship to someone else, such as a grandfather sending a family set of jerseys to his daughter in Canada, we collect the recipient’s name and address so the parcel can reach them.

Personalisation text

Custom Name products have fields such as “Name on back”, “Sleeve text”, “Camp name”, “Boat name” and “Trip year”. Whatever you type in those fields becomes part of your order record, because we need it to print the item exactly as typed. That text can include other people’s names, for example the five names on a fishing club’s matching Lake jerseys or a child’s name on a youth jersey. Please only enter names you have the right to use, and do not put sensitive information, such as health details, account numbers or anything private, into a personalisation field.

Account details

If you create an account in My Account, we store your login email, a protected form of your password, your saved addresses and your order history. You can check out as a guest instead if you prefer not to keep an account.

Emails and photos you send us

When you write to support@jerseyhollow.shop or use our Submit a Ticket page, we keep your message and our replies so we can follow the conversation. If you send photos, for example of a print problem or a damaged parcel, we use them only to resolve that issue and delete them 30 days after delivery.

Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, your browser sends technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you and the time of your visit. Some of this is recorded through cookies, described below. We use it to keep the site working, protect it from abuse and understand which pages need improving.

Information from the payment provider

The payment provider you choose at checkout tells us whether a payment succeeded and gives us limited details needed for our records and for refunds. It does not give us your full card number or your account password.

We also use information to prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and meet legal obligations such as keeping accounting records. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

If you are in a place where the law asks us to name a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you (orders, delivery and support), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and improving the store), your consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies) and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the businesses that help us run the store, and only what each one needs:

  • Payment providers, to take your payment and process any refund.
  • The businesses that help us prepare and deliver your order, including delivery services, who need the recipient’s name, address and the order contents, including any personalisation text.
  • Website hosting and email services, which store the site and carry our emails to you.
  • Any analytics or advertising tools, only when such tools are enabled on the site and, where the law requires it, only after you agree.

These providers may use the information only to perform their service for us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of our customers, or as part of a business transfer such as a sale of the store, in which case this policy continues to protect your information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising unless you opt in.

Gifts, crews and other people’s details

A lot of our orders involve more than one person. A wife orders a birthday jersey for her husband with his name on the back; a club organiser orders five matching jerseys, each with a friend’s name; a grandparent sends a family set to another household. In each case the person placing the order gives us someone else’s name, and sometimes their address.

We use those details only to print the items and deliver the parcel. We do not contact gift recipients for marketing, and we do not add their names or addresses to any mailing list. If you are the person named on a jersey or the recipient of a parcel and you want to know what we hold about you, or want it removed once the order is complete, email us and we will help.

When you order for someone else, please let them know their name and address will be shared with us for that purpose, unless the jersey is a surprise, in which case we keep the details to the order alone.

Order status and delivery updates

You can check order status in My Account or on our Order Tracking page by entering your order number and the email used at checkout. That page shows status information only to someone who has both details. We send order emails to the address you gave at checkout; if you would like updates to go to a different email, write to us from the original address and tell us the new one.

Cookies and similar tools

Essential cookies keep your cart, checkout and account working. Without them, the site cannot remember what is in your cart or that you are signed in. Other cookies, such as analytics or advertising cookies, are used only when those tools are enabled and, where the law requires, only after you agree.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will stop working, so you will not be able to complete an order. Clearing cookies also signs you out of your account.

How long we keep information and how we protect it

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, support emails for as long as they help resolve your request, and marketing preferences until you unsubscribe. Problem photos are deleted 30 days after delivery. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

The site uses encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to customer information is limited to what is needed to fill orders and answer emails. Card details go directly to the payment provider. No website can be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we will tell you if a breach affects you and the law requires notice.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including US states with privacy laws, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong, such as a misspelled name or an old address;
  • ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law;
  • withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time;
  • object to or restrict certain uses, and opt out of any sale or sharing for targeted advertising.

To make a request, email support@jerseyhollow.shop from the address linked to your order or account, and tell us what you would like us to do. We may ask you to confirm details from an order so we know the request is really yours. We respond within the time the law requires, and we never treat you differently for using your rights. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may also contact the privacy regulator where you live.

Children and youth sizes

We sell youth jerseys, but the store is meant to be used by adults. Parents, grandparents and other adults place orders for children; we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets a higher age. When a parent adds a child’s first name to a youth jersey, that name is used only to print and deliver the order. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

Jersey Hollow is based in the United States and ships from the USA to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. If you order from Canada, Australia or New Zealand, your information is handled in the United States and by the service providers listed above, which may be located in other countries. Where the law requires safeguards for these transfers, we use them.

Marketing emails

Order emails, such as confirmations and replies about a return, are part of your purchase and are not marketing. Marketing emails, such as news about new prints before the season starts, are sent only where you have agreed or the law allows it. Each one has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to stop them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site.
